Company History

1984

  • July – Established Gwangil Textile

1989

  • January – Entered the bedding industry with the “Honey Honey” brand
  • February – Expanded into nationwide wholesale markets including Dongdaemun and Namdaemun
  • March – Launched the “Richland” brand
  • May – Began department store sales (Shinsegae, Lotte, Hyundai, New Core, Galleria, Hanshin Corea)

1992

  • June – Expanded nationwide dealership operations

1993

  • April – Implemented company-wide computerized systems for production, sales, and accounting

1994

  • September – Introduced “TOM & JERRY” licensed brand, strengthening position in the junior bedding market

1996

  • June – Company name changed from Gwangil Textile to Richland

1997

  • August – Expanded to 180 nationwide dealerships

1999

  • April – Relocated logistics warehouse and office to Doksan-dong
  • April – Introduced “SMILEY (Paris)” licensed brand
  • May – Expanded to 250 nationwide dealerships
  • July – Established Seongmin Bedding Co., Ltd.

2001

  • March – Launched “UC Berkeley” licensed brand
  • July – Launched new brand “KNOCK & KNOCK NEW YORK”

2002

  • February – Opened Hacienda dealership in the United States

2003

  • Expanded and relocated Giheung Branch in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, and opened a new showroom
  • Opened New Jersey dealership in the United States

2010

  • Renewed Richland Brand Identity (BI)
  • Launched eco-friendly functional inner bedding brand “SOMIDA”

2011 – 2020

  • Opened company-operated stores in Ilsan, Suwon Gwonseon-gu Tap-dong, and Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do
  • August – Entered the U.S. market
  • June – Launched “Prism Stone®” licensed brand
  • September – Selected as an IBK Industrial Bank of Korea Family Company
  • Launched online brands “SIMPLY HOMEDECO” and “RICH & HOME”
  • December – Established Anseong logistics center

2025

  • January – Strengthened nationwide distribution network through strategic partnerships with regional dealers
  • March – Opened a new company-operated flagship store in Pangyo Techno Valley, Gyeonggi-do
  • May – Completed development of eco-friendly premium film lineup for residential and commercial use
  • July – Expanded export channels to Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Thailand
  • September – Selected as a promising growth company by a government-supported innovation program
  • October – Achieved cumulative sales milestone of 10 million USD since establishment
  • December – Launched integrated online platform for B2B and B2C customers
